MEETINGS The Hi-Yu general membership meeting for April will be on Monday, April 7th at 7 pm at Merrill Gardens at 4611 – 35th Avenue SW in West Seattle. Enter at the main door on 35th, sign in at the desk on the special Hi-Yu sheet, take the elevator down to level P-1, and go to the Activities Room. If the door is locked to the building, you have to ring the doorbell to the right of the main door to be let into the building. Parking is on the street.
CANDIDATES We have candidates for next year’s Miss West Seattle Hi-Yu! Come to the April meeting and meet them.
FLOAT We have a place to work on the float, with room to store the float on the trailer. Let’s get to work and get this float done! We need your help to accomplish this. If you’re not already on the e-mail list for notification of work parties, contact Lori at tongol@spu.edu

Senior Court: Queen Sivona Lingle was busy over mid-winter break working as a nanny and trying to decide where to attend college next year.
Junior Court: Queen Danica Tongol was under the weather at the last meeting. Princess Vanessa Radke enjoyed skiing over mid-winter break. Princess Ally Warnke has been busy going to school. Princess India Gants wasn’t able to make it to the last meeting. Princess Leah McFadden wasn’t able to make it to the last meeting.

Hiawatha Community Center FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT: Saturday, April 26th from Noon to 2 p.m. $2.00 per child/$5.00 per family: Have fun as a family while learning about the Hiawatha playfield environment. West Seattle Sportsmen’s Club KIDS FISHING DERBY: Saturday, April 26th from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. FREE. There will be 200 fish to be caught in a pond set up at Seacrest Marina. All kids under age 13 are welcome. Poles, bait, etc. are all supplied to fish with. The kids get to keep the fish they catch, and they always have a great time. MEMBERSHIP Memberships are still being accepted for the year which runs from October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008.
Memberships support the various Hi-Yu activities and the scholarships for the Senior Court. There are three types of memberships: individual, service club/non-profit and business.
